Life On The Farm
There are so many sweet surprises on the farm!
The old farmhouse was built in 1930 during a poor economic era on rich soil. At the same time, walnut trees were lovingly planted and nurtured to maturity. They have been producing some of the best walnuts in the Rogue Valley for decades. There are seven English walnut trees and six Black walnut trees. The nuts start to drop after the first hard frost. The sandy, loamy soil is part of the ancient river bottom. This rich soil grows an abundance of garden produce and sweet fruits ripen on the trees. There are also blackberries, boysenberries, raspberries and strawberries throughout the summer months. From all of this produce comes the jams, jellies, garden sauces, pumpkin and apple butters, and happy welcoming sunflowers. Our free range chickens keep the farm clean by harvesting any bugs and deliver the richest and tastiest eggs around. Give us a call and find out what is in season now. You won't want to miss out on the homegrown goodness!
